- SINGLE LEVEL GITEThis single-level gîte offers ground level accommodation. Rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms are all situated on the ground floor. There is easy access and movement within the lodging. The gîte is particularly suitable for young children and handicapped persons. There is one step at the entrance.
- GITE AT THE WATERFRONTThere is no shortage of water in the Alpes du Sud with its numerous dams favourable for swimming, boating and fishing. Serre-Ponçon Lake at the confluence of Durance and Ubaye rivers, at 3000 ha, is the largest artificial lake in Europe, Embrun, le Sautet, and the many rivers and torrents: Durance, Clarée, Buëch, Guisane, Drac, Blanchem Méouge, Blaisance and Avance.
- HERITAGEThe accommodation is situated near many cultural, heritage or historic sights (museum, fortification, architectural interest, monument or special interest site). Your host, who is sensitive to and knowledgeable about the region, will be happy to provide information and brochures on the subject. Amongst the Hautes-Alpes highlights: the villages of character, the sundials, the bell towers, the mountain villages, the ancient fortifications, the museums (mine museum, ecological museum, ethnological museum, railway museum).
- ACCESS TO VARS LA FORET BLANCHE SKI AREAVars, la Forêt Blanche, at an altitude of 1850 to 2750 m, is linked with Risoul and forms a large ski area of 180 km of pistes in the middle of a larch forest. A taste of liberty in the open air, in this cosy winter white atmosphere there is something for anyone. In Vars you will find a Mediterranean ambiance where the art of living, relaxing and letting go is practised. In this magnificent setting Vars has resolutely planted the flag of modernity in a framework of three historic mountain villages: a harmonious cohabitation of tradition and modern services for a warm welcome. 57 ski lifts and 104 pistes (10 black, 37 red, 40 blue, 17 green). Snow park. 45 km of cross-country pistes. Tour skiing and snowshoeing. Nursery, snow garden, slalom stadium, luge track. There is also an ice rink, a sauna and a cinema.
- ACCESS TO RISOUL LA FORET BLANCHE SKI AREAA 1850 m altitude La Forêt Blanche snuggles in a larch forest where chalets built of wood and stone remind you of a mountain village long ago. The main street and surrounding snow are the heart of a lively and friendly resort. Rising to an altitude 2750 m, are 180 km of pistes. The resort has a ski school, a snow park, and 45 km of cross-country pistes. piste for snowmobiles. Excellent ski touring and snowshoeing in the vast area surrounding the resort. There is also an ice rink, a sauna and a cinema.
- Route des Grandes AlpesInaugurated in 1937, the Route of the great Alps is the most beautiful mountain roaming: Thonon-les-Bains at Chin, from Geneva to the Mediterranean, 684 km and 16 passes among the highest in the Alpine french - six of them rising to over 2,000 metres - guide motorists, bikers, cyclists, cycling (and sometimes even... intrepid hikers!).
