- GITE RANDO (HIKERS)The accommodation is situated near one or more marked hiking trails (PR, GR). The owner provides topographical maps (IGN) and guidebooks. He will be able to advise his guests on the itineraries and can provide a packed lunch (if you take your dinners with him).
- ARTS AND CRAFTSSome of the owners are happy to share their passion for art or handicraft with you, whether professional or well-informed amateur. Take advantage of a training course or an introductory course in woodwork, painting, pottery, photography or music. Don't forget to bring your camera or brushes to immortalize the landscape.
- EXPLORING NATUREThis accommodation is located in a well preserved natural setting. The owner will be happy to propose activities to explore nature and wildlife.
- HERITAGEThe accommodation is situated near many cultural, heritage or historic sights (museum, fortification, architectural interest, monument or special interest site). Your host, who is sensitive to and knowledgeable about the region, will be happy to provide information and brochures on the subject. Amongst the Hautes-Alpes highlights: the villages of character, the sundials, the bell towers, the mountain villages, the ancient fortifications, the museums (mine museum, ecological museum, ethnological museum, railway museum).
- ORNITHOLOGYWhether in the Val du Durance reed beds or the snowy mountain peaks, bird life in Hautes-Alpes is abundant. Numerous lakes allow you to observe aquatic species. You can admire the majestic Griffon vultures in Rosans region where they have been successfully reintroduced. In the mountains you can observe grouse, hazel grouse, the golden eagle, the snake eagle and bearded vulture… Your host will be happy to advise you on observation sites and will tell you all about the species that you can see around the gîte.
- ACCESS TO ABRIES-RISTOLAS AREAAbriès and Ristolas are two attractive villages in a charming ski resort in a beautiful natural setting on the outer edges of Queyras Regional Park. The ski area is situated in an untamed setting and has 30 km of pistes (12 in total: 1 black, 7 red, 3 blue and 1 green). Abriès offers all kinds of winter activities. The chairlift brings you to an off-piste area where you can ski across the larch forest or simply descend the northern piste down to Valpréveyre. Abriès is situated on the magnificent 'Traversée du Queyras' trail which makes it perfect for cross-country skiing. There are 15 hiking trails in Guil Valley: Château-Ville-Vieille, Aiguilles, Abriès, Ristolas. There are slopes for every level. The resort is also the starting point for some lovely snowshoe hiking trails and ski touring.
- Gites OccitansThe owner, speaker of the language of oc (occitan, Alpine Provençal, \"patois\...) or passionate by the linguistic cultural heritage, undertakes to make known its guests the regional language: oral expression or provision in the cottage of a specific documentation, the valorization of place names, the transmission of popular knowledge (oral tradition, music...).
- The road of sundialsSundials road runs through the Department of the Hautes-Alpes with more than 400 antique and contemporary dials.
- Route des Grandes AlpesInaugurated in 1937, the Route of the great Alps is the most beautiful mountain roaming: Thonon-les-Bains at Chin, from Geneva to the Mediterranean, 684 km and 16 passes among the highest in the Alpine french - six of them rising to over 2,000 metres - guide motorists, bikers, cyclists, cycling (and sometimes even... intrepid hikers!).

Larch forest, pastures, lakes and rivers, wildlife, flora, as many discoveries at a rate of exposure of hillsides and mountain seasons. The Baker is also a refuge LPO. Winter snowshoeing. The flora and fauna of this region is typical of mountain ecosystems with many iconic species (the variable Hare, the ibex, the black grouse, ptarmigan...) or endemic (Campanula of the Alps, in the Queyras, the Waldensians Saxifrage Butterwort..).
